150 words at 150 words per minute is one minute of speech. Three two-second pauses make it 66 seconds.
When the whole video needs to fit 60 seconds, subtract the 6 seconds of quiet time first. Your words have 54 seconds left: 150 × 60 ÷ 54 = 166.6667 WPM. Try that pace out loud. If it feels rushed, shorten your script or extend the target.
A small workflow for a better take
- Prepare. Paste your complete English script. Use blank lines for sections.
- Budget. Add
[pause:2]for a breath or[show:3]for silent screen time. Both are additive, sequential holds; do not use a show cue for visuals that run under speech. - Rehearse. Set a comfortable scroll speed. Read each section, then press M at its end. You control the marks.
- Review. Compare planned and measured time. Download the project before closing this tab.
What counts as a word?
can't stop = 2 words. well-paced = 2. 2026 = 1 token, even if you say several words. [pause:2] = 0 words + 2 seconds. Invalid cues are flagged; fix them before rehearsing.
English first. Estimates second.
This version estimates English reading only. Numeric expressions, abbreviations, symbols, names, and other languages can have different spoken lengths. No formula can guarantee your delivery. Rehearsal is a manual timing exercise; it does not listen, record, or verify what you say.
Your script stays in your browser
Script text, titles, timing values, and rehearsal marks stay in this tab's memory. We use no script upload, analytics, microphone, camera, speech recognition, or automatic browser storage. Downloads happen only when you ask. The hosting service handles ordinary page delivery; your script is never put in its URL.
Choosing a tool
Browser prompters already offer useful basics. CuePrompter offers no-signup prompting, speed adjustment, and mirroring. Teleprompter.com's script timer estimates reading time from words and pace. Speakflow's documentation describes manual, auto, and voice-based scrolling.
This studio brings explicit quiet-time budgets, a target pace calculation, and manual section marks into one local workflow. It does not write scripts, generate storyboards, record voiceover, or follow your voice.
